Employees Love OOTB

OOTB Blog Post Visual.jpg

At OOTB, we treat the stylists, assistants, tailors, and PAs who we payroll on behalf of our clients like members of our own team. It is important to us that they get paid on time, have a clear understanding of the employee benefits that are available to them, and know that our expert team is always available to answer any questions and support them in various ways.

Many of the people who OOTB payrolls were accustomed to being paid as independent contractors. We know that change can be scary, so the OOTB team makes it a priority to provide the communication, education, and support necessary for them to successfully transition to W-2 compensation.

We are honored to share some words of appreciation from a few of our OOTB employees. Thank you for the kind words, folks!

“OOTB is a great payroll company! When CA passed AB5, things were a little confusing at first, but OOTB was able to quickly and concisely implement an effective solution to address the sudden change. Since then, the company has added competent staff, easy-to-use online features, and a willingness to listen and learn from their employees that can only make them shine even more. I am very happy with OOTB.”

“After ten years as a 1099 contractor, I transitioned to W-2 in January. Looking back at the year, I got a tax refund for the first time in a decade, I had sick days to take at the beginning of the pandemic, my taxes were cheaper and easier to file, and the time sheet takes less than a minute to fill out. I also appreciate how the OOTB team came through to support me with documentation and direct phone calls with my escrow company when I was refinancing my house. OOTB helped us through the unemployment process at the beginning of the pandemic, providing us with slide shows and step-by-step emails to aid us in getting our UI benefits. It feels like I have a support system.”

“After working on set for several years as a contractor, I was unsure at first about making the switch to becoming an OOTB employee. But their communication and understanding made it such a seamless transition. Easy timecarding, sick days, and best of all, getting paid quickly. I feel so supported knowing that the OOTB team is there for me.”

“My experience with switching over from 1099 to payroll with OOTB:

  • So much easier to handle all my accounting after I switched. Other than the obvious of having taxes removed—once you figure out how much to have removed—the stress of saving enough and figuring out quarterly estimated taxes is gone.

  • I can adjust my dependents as the year goes on if I want less deducted.

  • It’s easier.

  • I don’t have to spend time accounting and chasing checks.

  • I can focus on my job and leave the headache-inducing paperwork to someone else.”
